Job Opportunity- Senior Research Scientist in Agricultural Systems Modelling.
The Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture in Australia seek suitably qualified and outstanding applicants for the role of Senior Research Scientist in Agricultural Systems Modelling.
The role includes leading systems modelling research of crop, livestock and other agricultural production systems. Research activities will deliver into the agricultural and food sectors by making complex decisions actionable, especially on-farm decisions related to climate change, greenhouse gas emissions and carbon neutrality.
The role also involves teaching of systems research and modelling to undergraduates and postgraduates.
The successful applicant must (i) have a PhD or equivalent in a relevant field, (ii) demonstrate research engagement and extension with farmers/industry, and (iii) demonstrate scientific knowledge of and skills in crop and livestock systems.
Location: The position will be located in Launceston, Tasmania, however due to international COVID-19 travel restrictions, the successful applicant may first work from afar until international travel into Australia is permitted.
Remuneration: This role comes with a total remuneration package of up to $158,046 comprising base salary within the range of $118,946 to $135,082, plus 17% superannuation.
